PURPOSE: To provide an inexpensive drawing die free from wear according to the crystallographical direction shown in that having low wear resistance, free from the anxity that metallic inclusions or metallic phases are formed in diamond crystals to introduce thermal unstability and to generate early wear or cracking and excellent in performance. CONSTITUTION: A drawing die contg. a polycrystalline CVD diamond layer 10 is fitted to a supporting body 12. This layer 10 has respectively flat main faces 14 and 16 on opposite both sides and is fitted in such a manner that the circumference 18 is sufficiently buried in the supporting body 12. A hole 20 is formed from one main face 14 to the other main face 16 through the layer 10. When being used, a wire can be drawn through this hole. |
