PURPOSE:To provide a new benzoxadinylpyridone derivative having an excellent herbicidal potency and exhibiting excellent selectivity between crops and weeds. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula I (R is alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, haloalkyl, haloalkenyl, alkoxyalkyl; X is H, halogen, methyl which may be substituted with a halogen, ethyl which may be substituted with a halogen; Y is H, methyl). The compound is obtained by reacting a compound of formula IX with a compound of formula R-W (W is Cl, Br, I, p-toluenesulfonyloxy, methanesuflonyloxy) in the presence of a base in a solvent. The raw material of formula IX is obtained through a passageway according to the reaction formula. |
