PURPOSE:To save a reagent and sample solution and shorten the measuring time by preparing a reference liquid mixed with the component constituting a sample solution and switching between the sample solution and the reference liquid for measuring the ion concentration with ion selective electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A sample solution is introduced from a sample inlet 9 into a flow cell 1, ion selectives electrodes are sensed to corresponding ions, signals proportional to the concentration are output to a meter 6 for measuring the electric potential difference between electrodes, and the ion concentration is indicated on an indicator 10. When the measurement is over, washing liquid is introduced from a washing liquid tank 3 to wash the liquid attaching on the flow cell 1 and the electrode surface. If the standard liquid including the same non-electrolysis components as the sample liquid from a standard liquid tank 4 to the flow cell 1 at the end of the washing, the sample liquid slightly remaining on the sensing film surface of the ion selective electrodes acts good affinity for the sample components in the reference liquid and generates a stable electrode potential. After measuring this potential and passing the washing process, the same process is repeated. |
