STRUCTURE FOR HYPERTHERMIA

PURPOSE:To obtain a structure for hyperthermia useful for treating chronic pain by sealing a heating element composition capable of generating heat in the presence of air in the interior of a flat-shaped bag body and forming the back surface from a tacky agent containing a local anesthetic agent. CONSTITUTION:The objective structure for hyperthermia is obtained by sealing a heating element composition capable of generating heat in the presence of air in a flat-shaped bag body having the front surface formed of a moisture- permeable film and the back surface formed of a support (e.g. a nonporous film) and providing a heating element structure. The heating element composition is composed of 40-75wt.% iron powder, 1-10wt.% chloride, 10-40wt.% water and 1-40wt.% water holding agent. The back surface of this heating element structure containing the heating element composition sealed therein is formed of a tacky agent layer containing a local anesthetic agent (e.g. procaine). The skin surface temperature can be maintained at 38-44 deg.C to prevent low- temperature scalds and carry out effective treatment of the skin by including water in the heating element composition. Chronic pains are rapidly and sustainedly removed and relieved with the structure as a fomentation by using the local anesthetic agent.
