<p>Electrically and chemically stable liquid crystal compounds having a good compatibility with conventional liquid-crystal compounds even at low temperature while maintaining a high voltage retention and a large Δε and being represented by general formula (1): wherein n0 represents an integer from 2 to 10; n1 and n2 each independently represents 0 or 1; the rings A1 and A2 each independently represents a group selected from among those represented by formulae (a) to (i): Q1 and Q2 each independently represents a hydrogen atom, a fluorine atom, or a chlorine atom; and Y represents a fluoroalkyl group having 2 to 7 carbon atoms; provided any of the atoms of the compounds may be an isotope thereof. </p> |
