Prepn. of N-heterocycles of formula (I) and (II) in which R1 and R4-R9=H, alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, alkaryl or cycloalkyl gps., and R2 and R3=alkyl, alkaryl, substd. alkyl or cycloalkyl gps. The prepn. is characterised by reaction of olefins of formula (III) and (IV) (in which R2-R9 are as above) with NH3 or a prim. amine of formula H2NR1 in which R1 is as above, in the presence of a zeolite catalyst.
