Knee pad with rubber walls enclosing hollow cavity - has attachment, and elastomeric foam filling with overlapping cover

The knee-pad has rubber or rubbery plastics walls (6) which are double at the knee to form a pocket-type hollow cavity (14) containing elastomeric foam. The pad is held on the knee by an attachment (11). The cavity opens upwards and has a contact wall (13) for the pad outer wall. A removable cover (15) is formed by an overlap over the top edge (16) of the two walls forming the cavity and preventing outward movement. The inner cavity-wall on which the knee rests is curved outwards and the outer wall is flat. The elastomeric foam is stuck to the pad at least near the opening edges (16). USE/ADVANTAGE - The cushioning effect of the knee-pad, for miners, building-site workers and gardeners etc., does not require the hollow foam-filled cavity to be closed since the foam reacts inside the cavity.
