The drive shaft has twin wheels (2) on each side of the vehicle. One wheel (4) of each pair is permanently driven, while the other one (3) may be coupled to the drive arrangement. The second wheel (3) is constantly coupled via a viscous coupling (5), to the drive shaft (1), which drives the other wheel (4). The wheel to be coupled to the drive shaft, may be located on the outside or the inside, relative to the longitudinal vehicle axis. The viscous coupling is positioned on the drive shaft, and is contained within the wheel chamber (23) of the wheel to be coupled. USE/ADVANTAGE - Vehicle wheel drive arrangement has optimum power transmission to road surface, and permits relative turning of both wheels without wheel slip.
