摘要 A twin grab excavator operates hydraulically, whereby the two grabs are hinged about a member and are driven by a motor to slew about a ring, the grabs being mounted on an arm with a stop for the bucket boom and having means of holding and lifting. The cylinder for the bucket also opens it and it is connected through the lifting levers to a sliding ring which can move on the veritical shaft, this ring has rods to open the bucket and it can also turn; the rods end at the bucket scoops, a motor engages the toothed rim by the scoops so that the rods and buckets can be turned through 360 deg. C about the vertical shaft. The ring and/or vertical shaft are pref. made of hard metal or "Teflon" (R.T.N). ADVANTAGE - The excavator is free from the swinging motions associated hitherto with such machines. It has no cylinder specially for opening the buckets.
