A heavy goods vehicle, or the trailer of an articulated vehicle, is provided with an interchangeable load platform. In order to remove the platform from the vehicle, the platform is supported on struts. The upper end of each strut is connected to a horizontal tube and the strut can be rotated about the tube axis to swing it from the horizontal transport position to the vertical support position and vice versa. When the strut has been swung to its horizontal position it can be pushed inwards underneath the load platform. The strut attachment tube is guided by a guide tube (1) as it is pushed inwards. This guide tube projects horizontally from a central longitudinal beam to which the guide tube is welded. USE/ADVANTAGE - The guide tube reduces the effort required by the vehicle driver when changing the load platform.
