<p>The invention relates to a process for producing methacrylic acid and methacrolein, which comprises catalytically oxidizing isobutane in a gas phase in the presence of molecular oxygen to produce methacrylic acid and methacrolein in one step with a high productivity in a high yield using a catalyst containing a heteropoly acid and having a composition of P/As-Mo-V/Cu at temperatures up to 350 °C, preferably up to 320 °C, at which said heteropoly acid difficulty decomoses, to thereby maintain the catalytic activity for a long time.</p> |
