<p>Video signal recording apparatus is provided in which a chroma signal (C), after being separated from a composite input signal, is applied to a colour difference decoder (500). The colour component signals (R-Y,B-Y) at the output of the colour difference decoder are applied to an offset subsampling circuit (600) for being subsampled with a temporal offset in consecutive video fields. The colour burst signal is bypassed to the output of the subsampling circuit. The subsampled colour component signals (R-Y',B-Y') are applied to a chroma recording processing circuit (700) providing a down converted chroma signal. The down converted chroma signal and the burst signal are filtered in a bandpass filter (800) and multiplexed with the modulated luminance signal (YMF), sound (AFM), and tracking control signals (ATF). The multiplexed signal is recorded on video tape. The video signal reproducing apparatus comprises a chroma reproducing processor circuit (210), receiving the reproduced down converted chroma signal, and providing colour difference signals (R-Y',B-Y') in baseband signal, an interpolating cicuit (230) for interpolating an offset amount of the chroma signal, a crosstalk cancel circuit (240) for cancelling a crosstalk component of the interpolated chroma signal and a chroma encoder (250) providing a chroma signal in the original band which is added to the demodulated luminance signal. <IMAGE> <IMAGE></p> |
