The invention relates to display assemblies in which the image produced by a cathode-ray tube (1) is displayed on a display screen with the aid of an optical device (16). It relates more particularly to the means for facilitating the relative positioning between the cathode-ray tube (1) and the optical device (16). The cathode-ray tube (1) includes a bulb (2), one end of which is closed by a faceplate (6) carrying a cathodoluminescent screen (7). According to one characteristic of the invention, the faceplate (6) is larger than the bulb and includes a peripheral part (10) jutting out beyond the bulb so as to constitute a reference for the position of the cathodoluminescent screen (7). <IMAGE>
