An automatic-cleaning type of smoke-washing apparatus comprises a square box-shaped member, a conoid-shaped member, and a cylindrical air-curtain unit. The square box 1 has a bent oily smoke washing pipe 7, in which three nozzles 9 are installed for producing three water curtains so as to cool down the oily smoke passing through, the separated oil forming a thin layer of oil on the surface of a level of water maintained in the square box and being drained away through an automatic oily water exhausting pipe 5; and the cleaned air being exhausted through an air outlet and an exhausting fan 11. The conoid-shaped member 2 is substantially a conoid cylinder, being filled with water mixed with a surface activator and detachably attached to the lower part of the shaft of a centrifugal turbine blower for sucking in smoke to be washed. The upper periphery of the conoid-shaped member is provided with several nozzles. As soon as the motor of the smoke-washing apparatus is running, the centrifugal turbine blower will also rotate to generate a centrifugal force which can have the water mixed with a surface activator sprayed out to clean the blades of the centrifugal turbine blower and the inner wall of the blower automatically and without need for their being washed manually. The cylindrical air-curtain unit comprises three such air-curtain units 3 mounted on three sides of the smoke-exhausting apparatus respectively; each such 17 air-curtain unit has extension-and-swivel assemblies and screw fasteners to fix the unit where desired. When the cylindrical air-curtain units are running, the oily smoke will be directed towards the centrifugal turbine blower. <IMAGE>
