PURPOSE:To miniaturize a paper money discriminating unit which can shorten the processing time needed for decision of the denominations of paper money. CONSTITUTION:A paper money sample data read signal 112 which is synchronous with a paper money identification operating basic clock signal 100 functions to read the paper money sample data out of a memory 3 and to perform the slant correction processing through a skew correction circuit 10. A skew corrected paper money sample data read signal 113 which is synchronous with the signal 100 functions to reads the skew corrected sample data out of a memory 11 after the skew correction and to correct the data through a paper money sample data compressing adder 12. Then a paper money compression data read signal 117 which is synchronous with the signal 100 functions to read the paper money compression sample data out of a memory 19 and collate the data with the dictionary data through a comparator 22 and an adder 23. |
