PURPOSE:To properly process even melodies having overlapping parts to note them with respect to the noting device which generates musical note data based on event data indicating the production start and the production end of each melody sound constituting inputted melodies. CONSTITUTION:Sound production sections A, etc., are determined based on melody data obtained by preliminarily recording the performance of melody sounds in real time with, for example, a minimum measurement unit of 1/96 whole note as the unit. These sound production sections are converted to note data which indicates notes having a minimum note length of 1/16 whole note as the unit as shown in, for example, a note section A'. If timings of two melody sounds overlap as shown by A and B or C and D, the section B or C whose sound length is shorter than a half minimum note length is absorbed by (merged in) the other section A or D. |
