PURPOSE:To provide a copying machine where the constitution of a consol panel is simple and a binding margin can be set, by means of an easy operation, on a sheet in the position requested by a user. CONSTITUTION:The size of a sheet is detected by a sensor. The direction of the binding margin of the sheet is automatically set according to the size of the sheet. The device exerts control in such a manner that, for example, with a sheet of A4 or smaller, a binding margin is formed along the longest side of the sheet, and with a sheet larger than A4 (B4, A3, etc.), a binding margin is formed along the shortest side. Thus, it is not necessary for the user to set the direction of a binding margin and miscopying is prevented. |
