AUTOMATED DATA STORAGE LIBRARY HAVING A DISTRIBUTED CONTROL ARCHITECTURE

An automated data storage library having a distributed control architecture is described. More particularly, a data jukebox having a networked control system is described. The data jukebox includes subsystems which include network interfaces capable of receiving high-level commands over a control network from a central control unit and converting the high-level commands into low-level commands used to control the robotics and other mechanisms in the data jukebox.
