The present invention relates to a device for centring the door of household electrical appliances. It is characterised in that it includes a lock bolt (4) and a striker plate (6) exhibiting a cavity in which a part (4'') of the lock bolt (4) is housed, the dimensions of which part (4'') are equal to those of the cavity of the said striker plate (6), the latter ensuring centring of the door with respect to the uprights (7) of the enclosure (9). The present invention applies to all types of closure requiring centring of a door. <IMAGE>
