The invention relates to acoustic emission transducers which operate in the sea at variable submersion depths. Here the invention uses an energy source constituted by compressed gas. It consists of an assembly consisting: - of a backing mass (1), a horn (2), rings (3) - of a certain number of pieces (4, 5; 8 to 12) This invention allows operational use at very low frequency, less than 1 kHz. It allows mechanical simplification of the transducers and development of the working frequency by altering the delivery rate or the volume of the gas chamber. It makes it possible to develop the power of the transducer by altering the pressure parameter. <IMAGE>
