PURPOSE:To provide a document preparing device by which the capacity of a memory which is battery-backed up by a battery during the disconnection of a power source, or a nonvolatile memory can be reduced to the minimum, and an operability at the time of a power source disconnecting processing can be improved. CONSTITUTION:Document data which are being edited are compressed by a means which compresses the document data (step 102), and the document data are saved in the memory which is battery-backed-up during the disconnection of the battery, or the nonvolatile memory (step 103). When it is not possible to save the document data in the memory which is battery-backed-up during the disconnection of the power source, or the nonvolatile memory, the document data are saved in an outside storage device by using a means which saves the document data in the outside storage device. When a response from a user is necessitated, and the response from the user is not absent in a fixed time during the power source disconnecting processing, the power source is forcedly disconnected (step 120). |
