PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the possibility of obtaining the retrieved result that a sub- component suited to a main component does not exist as much as possible. SOLUTION: This component management system for retrieving and determining the sub-component suited to the main component flowing on a main component production line from a sub-component stock area based on plural information included in the sub-component is provided with a controller for receiving sub-component request data from the main component production line and retrieving a suited sub-component from the sub-component stock area. The controller is provided with a retrieving means 12 for setting up plural retrieving conditions having respectively different numbers of coincident conditions and respectively different items and retrieving a sub-component suited to the main component based on the retrieving condition of the sub-component request data and an auxiliary selection means 13 for switching the retrieving condition to an adaptable wider condition when the means 12 can not retrieve a corresponding sub-component, displaying the information on a suited sub-component to the external and allowed to be ootionally operated and determined from the external.
