TONER REMAINING QUANTITY DETECTING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To detect the presence or absence of a developing unit simultaneously with detecting the remaining quantity of toner as to a toner remaining quantity detecting device for detecting the remaining quantity of toner in the developing unit which is attachably/detachably provided in an electrophotographic device. CONSTITUTION:A toner sensor which is disposed in the eletrophotographic device main body and constituted of a light emitting element and a light receiving element, a window for detecting toner 9 disposed in the developing unit, and a toner removing member 10 stuck to the window 9 are provided, so that the presence or absence of the toner 3 and the presence or absence of the developing unit are detected by the judgement concerning the output of the toner sensor and a state where the developing unit comes in contact with or separates from a photosensitive body 8 by a central processing unit.
