PURPOSE:To restrain toner from being reversely transferred from an intermediate transfer body to a photosensitive body, which is caused by pretransfer optical destaticization of the toner of the 2nd and succeeding colors from the photosensitive body to the intermediate transfer body, and to obtain an excellent image without lowering density in the case of forming the color image by succeedingly transferring the toner images of respective colors on the photosensitive body on the intermediate transfer body by providing a negative positive process system developing means for sticking the toner to the exposed part of the photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:An optical destaticizer 32 is provided at a position just before the toner image on a photosensitive body 1 is transferred on an intermediate transfer body 15, and actuated just before the image areas of the 2nd and succeeding colors on the photosensitive body 1 come to the position of the optical destaticizer 32, so that the toner of the 2nd and succeeding colors is prevented from being reversely transferred from the intermediate transfer body 15 to the photosensitive body 1, and the maximum density in the final image is always secured to improve reliability on the image. |
