PURPOSE:To prevent a baked metal catalyst carrier from becoming lees resistant against acid by arranging a metal catalyst carrier element in an aluminum vapor atmosphere when metal plates are fused integrally to obtain a metal catalyst carrier as a unique manufacturing process. CONSTITUTION:Metal plates containing aluminum are alternately rolled up or laminated to form a metal catalyst carrier element 1. Next, this element 1 is arranged in a vacuum furnace 10 with a container 11 which contains molten aluminum and them is baked in the furnace 10. The mutual dispersion of alloy metal components occurs and fuse the metal plates in one piece at the contact part of the metal plates of the metal catalyst carrier element 1. As aluminum evaporates easily from molten aluminum, compared to the aluminum of the metal plate, an aluminum vapor generated from the molten aluminum is dispersed preferentially in the furnace 10, and the aluminum vapor from the metal catalyst carrier element 1 is almost prevented from becoming dispersed into the furnace 10. |
