<p>PURPOSE:To prevent offset deformation of cable by filling the gaps between the strands of power cable with a thermosetting resin or mixture hardening type material thereby restricting offset of the power cable. CONSTITUTION:Cable conductor 2 of a power cable 1 normally, comprises multiple strands. The strands occupy about 80-90% of the cross-sectional area of the cable 1 calculated from the diameter of the conductor 2. A thermosetting resin or a mixture hardening type material is filled in the gaps of the strands thus forming the cable conductor 2. Upon conduction of the power cable 1, the cable conductor 2 is heated with Joule's heat to cure the thermosetting resin or the mixture hardening type material filled in the gaps thus increasing the bending rigidity only at the filled part. According to the method, deformation is prevented at the offset part of the power cable 1.</p> |
