<p>PURPOSE:To easily separate gaseous oxygen of high purity at low cost by using molecular sieve carbon as an adsorbent to adsorb oxygen under pressure before introducing product gaseous oxygen to desorb gaseous nitrogen and combining an adsorption column after washing with that after recovery to transfer oxygen-rich gas before recovering gaseous oxygen under reduced pressure. CONSTITUTION:Adsorption columns 1-3 are packed with molecular sieve carbon. When the supply of feed air is continued under pressure by an air compressor 5 in an adsorption process, gaseous oxygen is adsorbed and gas mainly consisting of gaseous nitrogen is discharged from a pipe 1b. The product gaseous oxygen is introduced to the next adsorption column from a inflow route 2d in a washing process and then mixed gas of low oxygen concentration retained in the column is expelled to desorb gaseous nitrogen slightly adsorbed. Next, the adsorption column 2 after washing and the adsorption column 3 after recovery are combined and oxygen-rich gas is transferred to the column 3 under reduced pressure after recovery of gaseous oxygen is completed. Thus, product gas ranging from oxygen-rich gas to oxygen of high purity is obtained.</p> |
