<p>PURPOSE:To record video signals encoded efficiently of fields and to enable edition for each field unit. CONSTITUTION:An input video signal from a terminal 4 is quantized by an A/D converter 5, to be inputted through a switch circuit 6 to a compressor 7. Then the compression processing is performed for each unit block and for each 4-field video signal data. A recording processing circuit 8 applies error correction codes and synchronizing signals to the compression data outputted by the compressor 7 to be recorded on a magnetic tape 1 using a recording head 2. At the time of reproduction, a reproduction processing circuit 9 performs the processing of generating normal clocks, detecting synchronizing signals, and correcting errors of the compression data reproduced by a tape 1 through a reproduction head 3. The compression data is decoded to 4-field video signal data by a decoder 10, converted by an A/D converter 11, to be outputted to a terminal 12. Thus, the fine edition can be enabled in the VTR adopting the three-dimensional highly efficient encoding system using the correlation in the time axis direction.</p> |
