PURPOSE:To obtain a new L-fucose dehydrogenase useful for determining L- fucose. CONSTITUTION:An L-fucose dehydrogenase, capable of acting on L-fucose in the presence of an oxidized form nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, producing a reduced form nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide and acting on the L-fucose, L-galactose and D-arabinose, having 7.5-10.0 optimum pH, stable up to pH6.0-10.5 in treatment at 30 deg.C and respective pH for 60min and having 65000+ or -5000 molecular weight and composed of 2 subunits having 37000+ or -5000 molecular weight. A microorganism (e.g. Streptomyces olivochromogenes IF03178), belonging to the genus Streptomyces and having the ability to produce the L-fucose dehydrogenase is cultured to collect the objective L-fucose dehydrogenase from the resultant culture. |
