The axle (1) comprises a crosspiece connecting two arms (4). The arms are each connected to a shaft defining an articulation axis (40) relative to the bodywork. The crosspiece has members allowing a relative clearance of the suspension arms. A flexible articulation (7) is inserted between each axle support (8) and each shaft. Each flexible articulation is fixed without sliding to the support and the shaft and comprises vertical cavities (70) defining a direction of least radial stiffness.
