Reclining furniture (20) such as a chair, seat or bed of the type comprising a back-rest (21) and a seat (22), each delimited by a rigid frame (21,22) and in which the frame (22) of the seat is fixed and articulated (20)(33,34) in a rigid support chassis (30) which forms the base, characterised: - in that the rigid frames defining the back-rest (21) and the seat (22) are delimited by open tubes, arranged face to face in such a manner that the free ends of the said tubes are opposite; - in that the said opposite free ends are interconnected in pairs by an elastic sleeve (23,24); - in that the lateral tubes delimiting the frame (21) of the back-rest have means of positioning (21,22;38,39,40) on the chassis (30) so that the back-rest (21) is inclined in relation to the seat (22). <IMAGE>
