Device for the removal, in one and the same process, of polluting solid particles and water content, with automatic stopping of the process when the desired decontamination level has been reached. The decontamination device, in one and the same circuit via which the liquid to be decontaminated circulates, has the necessary filters and the water removal element. Passing a light beam of constant intensity at its origin through the hydraulic liquid and measuring the absorption of the light upon exit, by means of a photoelectric cell, a measurement is obtained of the impurities contained in the liquid which passes through the analyser, which allows, by means of a microprocessor or a suitable electronic circuit, interruption of the process automatically when the desired level of contamination is achieved. With the above same process, the decontamination device is able to work in closed circuit therewith or by circulating the hydraulic liquid via an external system. <IMAGE>
