The sensor contains a rotor (6) in a housing and carrying a magnet (7). The housing (8) has a pot-shaped lid (9) carrying a circuit board (10) with electronic components, esp. a Hall element (11) or Hall-IC which interacts with the magnet. Electrical leads (12) are provided for external connection of the circuit board and electrical components. The circuit board and the electronic components are covered on the lid by an auxiliary cover (15) mounted on the lid to be rotationally and axially fixed. USE/ADVANTAGE - E.g. for use in a gearbox. The arrangement protects the circuit board and electronic components against oil vapour, dust etc.
