Satellite communication system with video signal compensation

The satellite communication-receiver system has a signal converter (10) coupled to a demodulator (20), a circuit (30) to detect the noise level in the demodulator output, a circuit (40) to detect a signal and to identify video and audio signals. Further stages process the audio (50) and the video (70) components. A comparator (60) checks the signal level against a reference and also the noise level against a stored value. An output is generated to adjust the level of operation of the video processing stage.
