摘要
The cladding of a converter is formed with the shape of a trough around the tapping hole whose depth is equal to or greater than the critical height below which the whirl pool effect is produced in the steel. The surface of the trough lies basically in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the tapping hole and its area is approx. 10 times that of the tapping hole cross-section. Its cross-section is not rotationally symmetrical about the axis of the tapping hole.
