The childs seat comprises a seat moulding (1) and a detachable back support (6) which are strapped onto the car seat using the lap belt. To convert the seat for rearward facing a wedge shaped support (3) is strapped to the car seat via the seat belt and the childs seat is secured to the wedge via recessed fittings (15). The rake of the back support is adjustable within preset limits. A screw adjustment (9) and a slot hinge (4) provide the seat back adjustment. Very small children can be supported by the rearward facing mounting on the front passenger seat, while small children are supported on the forward facing seat.
