A so-called TEMEX interface (TSS) of a network termination (TNA) is integrated into the terminal (TE) and linked to its controller (SE), which produces acoustic signals and/or optical displays when data transfer takes place. For reproduction of the acoustic signals and display information the proper electroacoustic converter (EAW) and display device (AE) already at the terminal are used. The same user interface and operating procedures are employed. ADVANTAGE - Optimal common use is made of existing operational controls and displays so that data can be accepted and conventional speech communication established without additional indicators, keys or acoustic signals.
