The joint (10) comprises bores (16) enabling passage of a cable (17). The joint comprises two faces (12) that are in contact with the connector. The cable sheath is reinforced to enable a compressive force to be exerted on the cable. This compressive force seals the connection joint and the cable space. The profiles of the through bores are such that they taper inwardly to effect the compressive force as the cable is set.
