A thermally-reactive, sprayable hot-melt adhesive (I) contains a mixt. of polycaprolactone (II) and solid phthalate ester (III). Pref. mixt. (I) contains 40-65 (pref. 50) wt.% polyester, pref. a polycaprolactone-based polyester resin with mol.wt. 45,000-55,000 and m.pt. 59-62 deg.C (II), and 35-60 (pref.50) wt.% (III), pref. a phthalate plasticiser of the dicyclohexyl phthalate type. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used for spraying at working temps. of at least 120 (pref. 120-140) deg.C, esp. for coating uneven, irregular surfaces and for contactless application on leather, paper and textiles, and for rated breaking pts. at 70 deg.C (claimed). W.r.t. conventional hot melts (e.g. EVA copolymer compsns.), (I) has a much longer open time (10 mins. compared with about 45 secs.) and can be sprayed at temps. of 120-140 deg.C, compared with above 150 deg.C for prior-art compsns.; (I) enables good adhesion on `difficult' substrates, and (because of its low m.pt., e.g. 70 deg.C) does not have to be kept under inert gas before us
