PURPOSE: A method and apparatus is provided to open a file such as a document, a music or a moving picture and simultaneously browse a web page linked to the file so that it can offer a publicity relation information on the producing company or the producer in relation with the file. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises steps of opening the file by clicking on the file(102)for example, in a Microsoft Explorer, obtaining a URL address in relation with the file as well as executing the file by an application program(108), and making an internet connection program(104) obtain the URL, in relation with the file, from a meta data included the file(102) and a web browser(106) get in operation with the URL address. Otherwise, it can drive just the internet connection program(104) with skipping the application program if clicking the file(102). In this case it sets a registry, corresponding to a file extension code, with the internet connection program(104) to open the URL every time clicking the file extension.
