Removal of dust generated by cutting inscription in stone - by directing air used to operate tool over working area

The tool for cutting inscriptions in stone has a chisel (1) with a reduced diameter at one end to enable the chisel to be fitted in a socket in the tool. The outer end of the chisel has an insert fitted in a diametral slot. The chisel has an axial hole (9) which terminates at an end wall (6) of about 5 mm thick. Two small diameter holes are formed in the end wall on opposite sides of the insert (8). The tool is actuated by compressed air and the exhaust air is directed through the main hole and the small holes (12) so that the stone dust, generated by cutting the stone, is blown away. ADVANTAGE- The stone dust is automatically removed by the operation of the tool.
