In a support system for sitting or resting furniture having a foot part and a bearing surface part (18, 12) which are movable relative to one another, in which device the upper bearing surface part (12) which allows sitting or lying is supported on the lower foot part (18) by pendulum cables (16), two or more pendulum cables (16) being arranged functionally in series at each support point, and the bearing points of the pendulum ends located opposite the bearing surface part (12) and the foot part (18) being connected to one another, the pendulum cables (16) arranged in series have approximately the same pendulum length, a frame being provided whose height corresponds to the pendulum length. The pendulum cable attached to the bearing surface part is attached to the upper side of the frame and the pendulum cable attached to the foot part is attached to the underside of the frame. <IMAGE> |
