Burner fed with oxidant air and with combustible gas, comprising a distribution chamber (3) which communicates with a combustion chamber (11), with a combustion grid (13) being interposed between them. The distribution chamber is fed tangentially with air and gas and comprises an agitating fan (15). The burner can be ignited via the periphery of the combustion chamber and allows air to be blown onto the ignition means (47) at the end of the ignition sequence. Such a burner can in particular be used on a compact submerged-tube heating installation.
