PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a daylighting device capable of admitting mild sky light, while restraining the entering of heat of insolation, and of admitting sunlight a at desired angle of the user according to the actual position of the sun. SOLUTION: This daylighting device comprises a daylighting opening 42 for admitting sunlight L, a daylighting cover 12 mounted on the daylighting opening 42, a louver 20 made of a transparent material with fine prisms cut on its surface, a drive unit 32 for varying the tilt angle of the louver 20, and a control device for controlling the tilt angle of the louver 20, so that sunlight L can be admitted in a suitable direction according to the position of the sun. In this case, the use of the louver 20 with its plane of incidence for sunlight L which is flat and with the microprisms formed on its exit surface with the prism grooves oriented generally in the east-to-west direction results in the daylighting device 10 which is superior in direct sunlight blocking characteristic, diffusion property, and the range of directional control.
