PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an optical recording and reproducing device to easily switch and select an objective with simple constitution and have stable objective switching characteristics. SOLUTION: The device is mounted with objectives 1 (1a and 1b) the one of which is interposed selectively in an optical path according to the kind of a disk; and the device has plural magnetic circuit constitution where tracking magnetic circuits which are composed of tracking magnets 4 (4a to 4d), tracking coils 8 (8a and 8b) and magnetic plates 10 (10a and 10b) and arranged at the positions corresponding to the objectives 1 and an intermediate position magnet 5 is arranged at nearly intermediate position where the objectives 1 are disposed; and electric signals supplied to the tracking coils 8 for lens switching have 3 electric pulses 21, 22, and 23.
