PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network management system which can correctly judge whether transmission information is valid or invalid in a device for generating a means when transmission information or the like such as a transmission destination address is previously imported to the device for generating the message from the device for receiving the message. SOLUTION: Message is periodically imparted from a data processor 120 for receiving the message to a printer 110 being the device for generating the message (P202-P204). The printer 110 checks whether the message (refresh) from the data processor 120 is imparted or not within a prescribed time decided by a check timer, than register contents are judged to be invalid when it is No.
