A method of production of bleaching clays consisting in activation of argillaceous rocks by means of mineral acids in a raised temperature and then separation of wet deposit from post-reaction liquor, characterised in that a pulp is made from argillaceous rocks and water, which pulp is then heated to the temperature 363-373K, then is introduced, while continuously stirring, in at least batches, concentrated sulphuric acid, applying per 1 weight part of argillaceous raw material from 2.00 to 2.15 weight parts of water and from 0.35 to 0.50 weight parts of concentrated sulphuric acid.
