The present invention, applicable in the area of primary health care, consists essentially of a bag, made from flexible laminated plastic, which is provisionally divided into two sections by a leaktight system which guarantees the separate storage of a salt (e.g. ammonium nitrate) and of a liquid (e.g. water). Upon removing the divider system, the two sections are converted into a single section, causing the liquid and the salt to mix, giving rise, practically instantaneously, to a significant lowering of the temperature of the said mixture and consequently of the walls of the bag. Thus, it is used for application to any area of the body, replacing, in the first instance, the traditional ice pack. Owing to the irreversible nature of the process in the bag and to its low cost, and for reasons of asepsis, this is a single-use accessory.
