A bonded fibrous wet laid web containing cellulose acetate fibers, a bicomponent fiber including a polyester or polyamide fiber member and a second member having a melting point 20 DEG C below that of the first member and an aqueous based organic solvent which solubilizes the surface of the cellulose acetate fibers to permit bonding of said cellulose acetate fibers.
