The container for a propellant charge with a combustible case is of the type consisting of an outer casing (1) containing wedging means (2, 3). The container comprises a bottom wedge (2) taking the form of a substantially cylindrical piece bearing, on the one hand, on the bottom (4) and, on the other hand, on the side wall of the casing (1), and provided with a blind cylindrical recess (5) matched substantially to the calibre of the charge, a substantially cylindrical head wedge (3) arranged in the vicinity of the open end (6) of the container, and a spacer (7) connecting the two wedges spaced from one another. The spacer (7) is a tube engaged in the recess (5) and adhering to the inner wall of the head wedge (3). The wedges (2, 3) take the form of plastic pieces foamed in the mould, of an outside diameter equal to the inside diameter of the casing and force-fitted into the latter. The invention is used for the transport of a propellant charge with a combustible case. <IMAGE>
